2020 Projects

1. Food Bag Distribution

On November 2020, GGREF distributed dozens of food bags to the communities in the Sao Pedro River Valley.

Communities most affected by granite quarries received these donations in connection with an ongoing field research project.

This initiative has been led following strict Covid-19 protocol. To distribute the food bags, our field representatives visited each family in the community separately to avoid group gatherings.

This effort has been led remotely by Dr. Poupard (CEO) in conjunction with GGREF's local field office team in Brazil to carry on the initiative and coordinated the distribution.

2. Research Field Work

GGREF is currently providing logistics support for an ongoing doctoral research project entitled:

Impacts of GRANITE QUARRYING: The case study of subsistence farmers in the SÃO PEDRO River VALLEY

This initiative follows Covid-19 protocol. the researcher is currently obtaining data through a local research associate who ensures social distancing and reinforces the usage of masks.
